People have crises –
Berlin offers a crisis service

There is no such thing as a life without crises; they are part of development and growth. But a crisis can become so stressful that you can no longer handle it alone or with the help of family or friends. We offer advice to people searching for help as well as family members and professional aids who deal with people in crisis situations.

The Berlin Crisis Service provides fast and professional assistance for issues including psychosocial crises and acute mental and psychiatric emergencies. Our advice is free of charge and available 365 days a year around the clock. People in need of assistance can be helped personally, by phone, and in extreme situations on site at nine Berlin locations without an appointment. The consultation can also be carried out anonymously upon request.

Multi-lingual assistance and cooperation with interpreters and linguists

About a quarter of the people in Berlin has a migration background. A central task here is better communication and assistance for migrants and refugees. Linguistic and cultural barriers should not be an obstacle to using our assistance. Discussions are usually held in German. But we also strive to offer advice in other languages. There are multi-lingual professionals working at the Berlin Crisis Service, and we cooperate with interpreters and linguists. It usually requires some preparation time for us to provide advice in a foreign language. Please call us for more information.
